What is a shared desert tour?
On a shared tour you travel in a comfortable air-conditioned minibus with other travelers from around the world, usually a small group. The route, the stops and the timetable are fixed, and the cost of the vehicle and driver is divided between everyone, so the price per person is much lower. What is a private desert tour?
On a private tour the vehicle and the driver-guide are only for you, your family or your friends. You choose the departure time, how long to stay at each stop, and you can change the route or add nights. It costs more per person, especially for couples and solo travelers, but it is more flexible.
